Do we have another Clinton cover-up?
The Judicial Watch would like to have access to Sen. Hillary Clinton's records when she was first lady. I personally don't see how her stay in the White House could be used as a plus, but she points out on her website that her past residence in the White House as a qualification to become President. So maybe we should look.
Howerver, we probaby will never know, since William J. Clinton Presidential Library said it will not beable to release any documents until after the 2008 election. I has been stated by the Clinton library in Arkansas that nearly 2 million pages of documents related to the first lady's office probably won't be processed for release in time for the election. Under normal procedures, archives officials must review each requested document line by line for material considered classified, private or confidential communications before it can be released.
"With Hillary Clinton aggressively pursuing the presidency, uncovering the truth about her activities in the White House is just as relevant today as it was during the Clinton era," said Tom Fitton, president of Judicial Watch. A previous story states that the Clintons' longtime attorney and consigliere, Bruce Lindsey, has veto power over documents he deems privileged communications. Privileged communications are big words and can cover a great deal of ground.
So even though the Judicical Watch has fild a lawsuit July 16th for the records that she kept during her huband's presidency (Jan. 20, 1993 to Jan. 20, 2001), I doubt we will ever learn her thoughts and actions on Whitewater, the campaign finance scandals, or the Monica Lewinsky case.
